Dear Class of 2026,
HCHS is excited to offer one last free opportunity for seniors to take the ACT this fall. It will be offered on Tuesday, October 28, at 8:00 a.m. in the Aux Gym. Although this opportunity is optional, we encourage all seniors to take advantage of increasing their scores for college admissions, scholarships, and post-secondary readiness.
If your child is interested in taking the ACT on October 28, please have them complete the form that will be posted tomorrow in the Class of 2026 Google Classroom to register. Their response must be received by Friday, September 26, 2025.

We're collecting donations of new and gently used leggings, sweatpants, and sweatshirts for the Henderson County High School Youth Services Center!

If you have items you'd like to donate, you can drop them off at the high school during school hours. Your support helps our students stay comfortable and confident.

HCHS students, a friendly reminder: Quarter 1 midterms are tomorrow, September 5th! Be sure to turn in any missing work to make sure your grades are up to date. Finish the quarter strong!

First FCA meeting of the year will be Tuesday, September 9 in Mr. Rutledge’s room, T200. Jordan Cannon will be speaking.

The Student Life Picture Wall is coming to life in the main hall. To submit pictures for the wall, upload them to the Google Classroom form.

Student Council applications are available at the Red Unit Desk. Once completed, they are due back to the Red Unit Desk no later than Wednesday, September 10.

Any Junior interested in applying to the Governor’s Scholar Program (GSP), can pick up an application from Mrs. Meyer in the green unit office.

We are looking for Colonels who want to be the COLONEL!! Go to your Class of Google Classroom to sign up.

HOSA is having its Kickoff on Tuesday, Sept 9th, in the cafeteria after school. All are invited. Snacks, food, and fun! Join team HOSA!

The Bowling Team will have its informational meeting after school next Wednesday, September 3, in R201. Anyone interested in joining the team this year needs to come to the meeting. See Mr. Huston for more details.

Baseball open field workouts will begin on 09/08/25 at 4 pm at the baseball field for any student interested in participating in baseball for the 25/26 season. Any interested student must have a physical on file to participate in workouts. Baseball pants, hats, and baseball equipment are required. If you have any questions, see Coach Reynolds.

Get ready, Colonels! Homecoming Spirit Week is just around the corner, from September 15-19. We've got so much planned, including court nominations, dress-up days, and the epic Clash of Classes Kickball tournament! More details are coming soon, so listen for the announcements!

Educators Rising will be having its first meeting on Wednesday, September 3, at 3:45 in T205. If you are considering being a teacher, then this club is for you! Snacks will be served!
